Aha, it IS Winter

Well, the last few weeks of optimism and bare earth has been buried by snow that fell last night. This probably isn't too bad, because things were starting to look a bit dry. Also, snowmobiling will go much smoother now. More snow and cold for the next week! There won't be any sprouting tips of crocuses or early tulips for a few more weeks yet, folks.

We had just unwrapped the shrub at the center of this photo!

We seem to be on the same weather schedule as you. The deliciously early spring weather, followed by the inevitable snow, although we got a lighter dusting than your area. A few of my iris are already popping up, about the earliest ever. It's a good thing that they are hardy, and don't seem to mind the white frosting. Still, a hint of spring is always appreciated.

I've been too long too far north to be fooled. I know the snow will hit the fan soon enough here.

Still, even this late in the season I find the new snow fall beautiful. It helps knowing it's yours and not mine - yet.

Mother Nature is such a tease this time of year! Hang in there, Spring is only hiding, she will be back :-)

At lease you got enough to cover. Ours is just enough to be messy going in and out of the house.

I needed a few more days inside anyway!

Spring will come at some point!!! At least your yard is beautiful even under the snow.

If March comes in like a lamb........in Manitoba, we're waiting for the lion to appear. I believe that this time period is when more damage is done to our perennials and shrubs than during -40C.

My winter snow is still on the ground. In the places where it has melted I have bulbs and perennials coming up although they get frozen every night.
